APRIL 3, 2017 by KKC
We had a crazy end to 2016 and a brilliant start to 2017 that saw us visit Holland for the first time (as a band, as you can imagine we know Amsterdam like the back of our hand at this stage 😉 ) We also had a mental night in the INEC and played a few gigs up north with our Belfast show selling out months in advance. We haven’t gigged for six weeks, the longest in a while and here’s why…
The last time we played here it was fucking incredible. Hands down the best indoor gig we’ve ever played. The amount of people that showed up, that knew the (very few words) to our tracks and that partied the night, it left us feeling humbled. It also left us thinking how the fuck do we top that? Six week’s of planning, practicing and gowlin’ have got us into good shape for this Saturday at The Academy. There’s a brand new show, brand new tracks and we think (and hope) this Saturday we’ll see a load of happy faces at The Academy. Afterall we have a Best Irish Live Act award to defend!
If you need any convincing, have a look at Spacehopper from the last gig at The Academy;
We’re playing our second visit to London on Thursday April 20th. Our drummer Mark Graham is actually cycling to the gig from his home in Tramore. In miles, that’s what you would call ‘fucking miles’. He’s probably going to set off right after the Dublin gig to get their in time. If you happen to see a lad on a bike with the biggest drum kit in the world on his back, give him a beep, that’s our Mark. We don’t know too many people in London, and we begged all our mates to come to the first gig so we can’t beg them to come down for the second, so if you know anyone who should check us out – TELL THEM. April 20th, in hipster central (Dalston) is where we’ll be, doors open at 8pm and as I said it’s FREE in. Come see us before we’re no longer free! We’ll try and be as good as that time when we played EP!
