OCTOBER 9, 2018 by KKC
We’re at The Olympia on Saturday October 13th for our biggest headline gig. Ever. It’s also our last gig in Dublin until sometime in 2019. Get your tickets here. You probably know loads about us but get in early to catch Mango x Mathman and prYmary Colours. Doors open at 7pm.
Dublin’s Mango X MathMan are leading figures in the new wave of exciting Irish urban music. Their first release ‘Badman’ has become the quintessential grime anthem for Ireland and their subsequent releases have held their stature as the ones to watch on the Dublin music scene. Their steadfast approach to innovating and melding established genres such as Grime, UK garage, Rave and Hip Hop has given them a unique sound that blends rave culture and Dublin life.
They released their first EP the ‘Wheel Up EP’ in December 2017 which is now available on all streaming platforms. ‘Wheel Up’ is a collection of uptempo grime and rave tracks ahead of their forthcoming album ‘Casual Work’.
After a successful 2017 which closed with a performance at ‘Other Voices’, 2018 has started off with a bang and seen them perform at Imagining Ireland’s 21st Century Song show at The National Concert Hall Dublin and London’s Barbican Centre. They also performed at the Trinity Ball and supported Wiley in Dublin’s Academy. They are now known for their live shows and have been performing at all major Irish festivals this summer.
‘When you have able performers ripping through rhymes with as much swagger and authenticity as Mango & MathMan you know that a moment has not only landed but will be hanging around – and spreading its wings – for many years. Rough? Irrefutably. Ready? Indisputably. Riotous? Undeniably.’
-Tony Clayton-Lea, The Irish Times
‘Dublin MC Mango, along with MathMan, continued his trend of arriving at a festival, getting the lay of the land and then dominating it.’
-Una Mullally, The Irish Times
PrYmary Colours are a 2 piece electronic dance pop act from Wicklow. Their music is reminiscent of 90s dance music with a modern feel. The Irish Times named them (twice!) “New Artist Of The Week”. They’ve supported acts such as Kelis, Greg Wilson and Daithí. At their gigs, expect live original energetic music, with dancers, hula-hoopers, and an all round upliftingly good time.
Prymary Colours have a clear mission;to bring joy to everyone through their music.
